Theatres

The downtown movie house hit hard times when the multiplexes opened. Although many were demolished, quite a few survived to become proud landmarks once again. Some examples:

		After surviving neglect and a 1975 tornado, Fort Valley's Austin Theatre recently entered its ninth decade in fine fashion.
		The Rose Theatre in Forsyth has gone from roofless shell to community gathering place.
		Dalton's Wink Theatre is now an 1100-seat performance hall.
		The marquee on Milledgeville's Campus Theatre has gotten a much-needed facelift.
