Urban parks make downtowns more attractive and inviting, not only for those who live in the city, but for out-of-town visitors as well. For a successful downtown, the importance of urban parks can not be understated. Tree-lined parks soften the hard concrete buildings while providing shade during hot summer months. One of Georgia's oldest planned cities is famous for its small urban parks surrounded by sprawling live oaks.
